The purpose of the conference The Humanistic Approach of Chingiz Aitmatov & His Legacy Worldwideis to celebrate and commemorate the 95th anniversary of the magnificent writer Chingiz Aitmatov with his friends, colleagues and people who knew and admired his work atAga KhanCentre.
ChingizAitmatov is a globally well-renowned writer, philanthropist and environmentalist. He was nominated for the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2008 and received the Austrian Price as European Bestseller author in 1994. Aitmatov was honoured in 1963 with the Lenin Prize forTales of the Mountains and Steppes(a compilation includingJamila,油The First Teacher油温稼糸油Farewell,油Gulsary!) and was later awarded a State prize forFarewell,油Gulsary! Aitmatovs art was glorified by admirers. He founded the Issyk-Kul Forum in 1986 on ongoing environmental problems of Central Asia and the whole world in general.
