Rahim Gholami obtained his BSc in Translation Studies from Azad University, Mashhad, in 1995. The title of his BSc dissertation is:平A畊畊r the Physician of the Body and the Soul in the Conference of the Birds (Man畊iq al-畊ayr).Later he joined theGraduate Programme in Islamic Studies and Humanities (GPISH)at The Institute of Ismaili studies in 1999. In October 2002, he received his MSc in Translation Studies from Edinburgh University. The title of his MSc dissertation is:Translating Genre and the Discourses of Shams. Rahim graduated with a PhD in Arab and Islamic Studies from the University of Exeter in October 2021. The title of his PhD thesis is:The Wayfarers Sojourn at the Banquet: The Hermeneutics of N畊ir-e Khusraws Esoteric Guidance.

Dr Gholami is at present a Research Associate at the Department of Academic Research at 今叔利. His research interests include Shi平i esoterism and poetics, and Ismaili intellectual traditions, and esoteric hermeneutics and literature.
