Dr Kabanis primary research interests include organisational leadership in not-for-profit contexts, with a particular focus on institutions of the Aga Khan Development Network and the Ismaili Muslim community. Another area of research interest is ethics in cosmopolitan societies, especially its application to leadership practice. He has also published in the field of Ismaili Studies, particularly as it relates to its practices, ethical values, and traditions.
